The Cornwall pug meet Fundraising for Pug Welfare & Rescue at Poldhu Beach

Fundraising for Pug Welfare & Rescue

PWR is completely run on public donations and we wouldn’t be able to help the hundreds of pugs that are surrendered into our care each year without the help of our wonderful and generous supporters, including those who are kind enough to give up their valuable time to raise funds for the charity. Our vet bills run into hundreds of thousands of pounds annually, so all help is hugely appreciated!

If you’d like to fundraise for PWR, please email Louise for more information:

PWR Fundraising Heroes

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone that takes the time to fundraise for the charity. We’re completely self-funded and our ongoing costs are significant, so any help that our supporters can give is hugely appreciated. Below are a small selection of the wonderful people who regularly raise much-needed funds for Pug Welfare & Rescue…

Lynn Parsons

Throughout the summer months, Lynn holds a ‘Teddy Tombola’ at local Steam Rallies and regularly raises money for the Charity. Last summer, Lynn, her husband Geoff, along with family and the rest of the cast, put on an over-18’s performance of Aladdin at her local theatre in Cornwall, which ran for three nights, was sold out and raised a whopping £1,735! Lynn is a true Pug Hero!

Jayne's Beautiful Illustrations

Jayne runs her own Folksy shop called ‘onelittlepug’, selling her beautiful hand-made cards, illustrations and bookmarks. She regularly holds flash sales on Instagram, with all of the profits going to PWR. Jayne also adopted bonded pair Arlo & Nora from the charity and they’re now living their best life in the countryside!

Thankyou Jayne, your continued support is very much appreciated!

Leona runs 10k to help PWR's Pugs!

In May ’25, Leona completed the AJ Bell Great Bristol 10k Run in aid of PWR! She said ‘I’m running to raise money for this wonderful charity that I adopted our pug Bertie from. They helped me daily whilst I got to know Bertie and paid for the operations he needed, which cost a lot! They do this for every pug in their care that needs medical help. I also volunteer with them, helping to find new homes for pugs.’

A huge thanks to Leona and to everyone that generously sponsored her run!

Shirley's Lovely Drawings!

Talented artist Shirley, who adopted the delightful Margo from the charity, creates beautiful drawings of people’s pets to raise funds for Pug Welfare & Rescue. Shirley charges just £15 per drawing and always has a waiting list of people who’d like a drawing of their favourite pet. If you’d like to find out more, just email Louise:

Meet-up Groups

We have many local pug meet-up groups who often take the opportunity to raise much-needed funds for PWR when they get-together or hold events. The image at the top of this page shows the Cornwall group, who have regular meet-up’s on Poldhu Beach, where Natalie, who runs the Poldhu Beach Café, sells her home-made dog treats.

In the picture above are the Northumberland and North Tyneside Pug Meet Up Group. They held their first ever Christmas walk & Secret Santa in aid of the PWR in December ’24. They’re a growing group of Pug devotees in the North East of England, who welcome other breeds to join them, and have been busy coming up with ideas to raise much needed funds for the charity, for which we’re extremely grateful!

We'd like to say a massive 'thank you' to everyone that takes the time to help us out with fundraising, we couldn't help Pugs in Need without your continued support and every donation is hugely appreciated!
