For most people, taking the decision to surrender your pug is one of the most difficult and emotional choices you’ll ever have to make. We completely understand the pain and anxiety that you might be feeling, but please rest assured that our dedicated and experienced volunteers are on hand to help guide you through the whole process.
If you’d like to talk this through before making any decisions, please feel free to get in touch, we’ll be happy to offer any help and advice that you might need and to answer all of your questions.
As with many similar rescue charities, due to higher than usual demand and high numbers of pugs taken in, we had to take the difficult decision to close some of our areas to surrenders during 2025, to enable us to be able to give the best future to the pugs that were already in our care.
Since then, we’re pleased to have been able to open many up again, and we’re currently able to accept rescues in the South East (7), Central (2), the East of England (8), East Midlands (3) and West Midlands (5). More areas will be able to open again over the coming months.
For enquiries in areas of the country that are currently closed, please contact us by email:
If you’re thinking about surrendering a pug to us and are located in one of our areas currently open to surrenders, please feel free to contact our Volunteer Area Coordinator responsible for that area, they’ll be happy to help and guide you.
Many of the callers enquiring about rehoming their pugs ask about what happens to them once they leave their foster home and go on to be adopted. It’s perfectly natural for people to want to know that their pug will be loved, looked after and go on to live a happy and fulfilling life. One of our most experienced Volunteer Area Coordinators, Jackie, recently put this article together to reassure all surrenderers that their pug will always be extremely well cared-for and treasured within our wonderful pug-loving community…
